He participated in founding the Egypt Nationalist Party after the January 25 revolution and announced that it would run in the presidential elections, but changed his position and returned to run for the People’s Assembly in the Nabrouh district, heading the Egypt National Party list, but he did not win a seat in Parliament.

He was prevented from appearing on television by a judicial decision, but he appealed against him and returned to the screens again. Then, on March 15, 2012, he was sentenced to six months in prison for defaming Laila Marzouk, the mother of the young Khaled Saeed, who died of severe beatings at the hands of security forces in Alexandria in July 2010. Okasha had described her late son as “smoking the banjo.” And (Okasha) said, directing his speech to Khaled Saeed’s mother, I was raising your first son so that he would not drink a banjo, describing her son as the martyr of the banjo, the actor Daoud Hussein imitating him in the Wi-Fi program.

The Pharaohs channel was closed on Thursday, August 9, 2012, due to threats he made live on the Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi. “President Morsi’s blood becomes permissible” and warns him that he has “men, beasts and lions with him.” In the second clip, he warns the “Israeli people” of the consequences of Morsi’s assumption of the presidency and that he will be a danger to Israel.
