Sofinar Grigoryan was born on December 20, 1983 in the former Soviet Union, into a family of German origins. She has 4 brothers, the youngest of whom is daughters, and the meaning of the name Sofinar is a mermaid. She initially worked as a ballerina, then turned to belly dancing because of her love for Arab songs, and appeared in some video songs that were produced by (Dalaa) channel, but she gained extraordinary fame after appearing while dancing in the song of the movie (Al-Qashash), which was shown on Eid al-Adha. in 2013.
