Sharon Stone was born on March 10, 1958 in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, United States. Nominated for an Academy Award, winner of two Golden Globes and Emmys. She achieved widespread fame as a result of her daring role in Basic Instinct in 1992, and later appeared in Basic Instinct 2 in 2006. Also featured in her films are: Specialist with Sylvester Stallone, Casino with Robert De Niro and Gloria.
In the early 1990s, Sharon Stone joined the Church of Scientology, where she remained until she converted to Tibetan Buddhism after fellow actor Richard Gere introduced her to the Dalai Lama. In 1984, she married producer Michael Greenberg and divorced permanently in 1990. In 1998 she married Phil Bronstein, editor-in-chief of the San Francisco Examine, who died of a heart attack in 2004. The couple adopted a son, Rowan Joseph Bronstein in In 2000, she adopted a second son, Laird von Ston, in 2005, and a third son, Quinn Kelly, in 2006.
During a television interview in 2005, she expressed her interest in bisexuality, and said, “She had previously dated women in romantic relationships.” She has also been known to support research related to organizations that provide services to the lesbian, gay and lesbian communities and people living with HIV/AIDS.
Sharon lives in her home in Beverly Hills, California, and owns a farm in New Zealand.
