May Matar was born on October 8, 1987 in Kafr Aqa, in the Koura District, in the North Governorate of Lebanon. She lived the first 18 years of her life in Saudi Arabia, where her father works, then returned to Lebanon to enroll in university, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in cinematography and theater and then a master’s degree in cinematography. She has a talent for singing, excels at playing several musical instruments, she is also a talented actress, writer and composer, as well as a licensed director of photography.
