Mai Selim was born on November 6, 1983 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to a Jordanian father of Palestinian origin and a Lebanese mother. She is the sister of actress Mays Hamdan and media personality Dana Hamdan. She studied business administration at the Naval Academy.
She worked as a model in singing clips in her artistic beginnings, such as the clip “Ayni” by singer Hisham Abbas and artist Hamid Al Shaeri. Since the beginning of her artistic career, she has presented several albums and songs, and has filmed several video clips. She recently moved to the field of acting in cinema and television in Egypt and worked in several roles. She also participated Her sisters, Mais and Dana, presented the talk show “Sisters’ soup” on MBC 1 in 2012.
In November 2010, she got married to Egyptian businessman Ali Al-Rifai, and in October 2011 she gave birth to her first child, Lee Lee. She separated from her marriage in 2012.
