Jannat Mahid was born on January 6, 1986 in Oued Zem, Morocco. She grew up with three siblings and was the youngest and the only girl among them. Since she was the youngest, Jannat was the center of everyone’s attention. Thanks to this attention, her families discovered that what caught her ear weren’t the children’s songs that were appropriate for her age but the deep songs she memorized and began to sing. Hence, her family provided all the support for her talent, especially her mother, who has a sweet voice, but she used it to sing only on family occasions. When she was eight years old, she participated in a singing competition in Morocco and for the first time in her life stood on a stage accompanied by an orchestra. Despite her young age, Jannat was not afraid and did not settle for winning first place in the competition, but later participated in three other competitions in Morocco and won first place in all of them.
