Elissar was born under her real name, Mary Abu Murad, on December 23, 1980, in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, to a middle-class family. At the beginning of her life, she attended a specialized school to study nursing, before moving into the field of dance. Today, she is one of the most famous and most seductive belly dancers in the world.
The artistic beginning of Alissar’s career was through participation in the “Studio El Fan” program, where she met the director, “Simon Al-Asmar”, and he was the first to introduce her to the program “Stepping and Leaning”. She started performing dance performances on special occasions such as weddings and local restaurants in Lebanon, until her star became brighter and her reputation spread, and she performed dance parties in Gulf countries such as the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Egypt, all the way to London, Paris, Monaco and India.
The Lebanese singer then turned to singing, as she became famous as a show artist that combines dancing and singing.
