David Schwimmer was born on November 2, 1966 in Astoria, New York State – United States, to a Jewish family. His father’s name is Aturnez Arthur and his mother’s name is Arlene Coleman Schwimmer, and he has an older sister. When he was two years old, he moved to Los Angeles and grew up there.
David Schwimmer studied at (Beverly Hills) High School, and was performing roles in school plays, from which he graduated in 1984, then attended (Northwestern) University and graduated from it with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Expression, he co-founded (LookingglassTheatre Company) . Until the end of the 1980s, he was living in Los Angeles as an actor, struggling in search of artistic success, and he performed several television roles, until he gained international fame by starring in the series Friends as Russ Geller.
David Schwimmer starred in his first film, The Pallbearer, in 1996, which was followed by another starring role in Kissing a Fool (1998), Six Days Seven Nights (1998), Apt Pupil, and Picking Up the Pieces (2000).
