Basma Ahmed - Basma Ahmed

Basma Ahmed was born on October 12, 1976 in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, to a father who works in journalism and an Egyptian mother who works in the field of defending women’s rights. Her maternal grandfather is the politician Youssef Darwish, the founder of the Egyptian Communist Party. She completed her secondary education at the French Lycee, and graduated from the Faculty of Arts, English Department. She worked as a broadcaster on the Nile Variety Channel, then Dream Channels, then she went to work in acting, and her first movie was “The City”, where director Yousry Nasrallah chose her to participate in the film. She married Amr Hamzawy on February 15, 2012.

Basma was one of the artists who had a presence in the Egyptian revolution, and her name was associated with the revolution.
