Biography, Life story

Assi El Helani - Assi El Helani

Assi El Hallani was born on November 28, 1970 in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. He belongs to a Baalbek family consisting of 13 brothers and sisters. Married to former Miss Lebanon Colette Boulos, he is the father of three children: two daughters (Marita, Dana) and a son (Alwaleed). He participated in the talent show “Studio El Fan” and won the silver award for folkloric color. He also presented a series of albums: Your Home is Qasr, Mahlana Sawa Sawa, Maher Al Zeina.. before achieving stardom with the song “Wani Mariq Merit” from the album of the same name. He signed a contract with “Rotana” as a producer and distributor of albums. After adhering to conditions he deems necessary to support his songs and his artistic message, especially with regard to the exclusivity of showing the music videos.

El Hallani sang the words of the elite poets of the Arabic song, but the lion’s share was for the great lyricist Nizar Francis, who described him in one of his few media appearances as “his soul mate.” He also sang for the Arab poet Nizar Qabbani, the poet Tarabay Rahma, Tony Abi Karam, Ghanem Gad Shaalan, Saud Sharbatly, Karim al-Iraqi, and others. In his singing, he dealt with various topics, carrying his own vision that art is a social and humanitarian message in the first place: he sang for love and lovers, sang for the homeland and the land.. and sang for the mother, and sang for fighting hunger and poverty.. and expressed through his songs his national commitment and sense of patriotism, so he sang for Palestine, Lebanon and the children of Iraq, so it was “be with knowledge.” The Sleeping Universe, Our Strength in Our Unity, We Are Coming, Steadfast, The Night of the Homeland, After You Are Silent, and the list goes on. He also composed more than 20 songs that achieved success, such as “Ya Naker Al-Maarouf”, “Addicted to Your Hawaki”, “My Fire and My Memories”, the wonderful “Al-Qarar”, “Zaghiri Al-Dunni”, “Sit Al-Satat”, “Beirut Uncle Crying” and “Mamarni Tabaak”. He also composed 6 songs from his album “Daqat Qalbi” and half of the songs from his album “Yumkan”, announcing his return to Rotana as a producer and distributor of his musical releases.

In 2012, he participated as a member of the jury of the talent discovery program (Sweet Voice), the first season, with Sherine Abdel Wahhab, Kazem El Saher, Saber Al Rebai, presented by Arwa Gouda, Mohamed Karim and Nadine Njeim. The same arbitration team participated in the second season in 2013, presented by Aimee Sayah, instead of Arwa Gouda, and the third season in 2015.

In 2018, he participated again as a member of the judging panel of the talent discovery program (Sweet Voice) for the fourth season, this time as part of a new jury team with Mohamed Hamaki, Ahlam Al Shamsi, Elissa. Presented by Nardin Farag and Badr Al Zaidan.

Assi El Hallani is an active participant in the campaign of the Global Organization to Combat Poverty and Hunger. He was honored by many institutions, especially the United Nations, in recognition of his efforts in supporting charitable institutions in the Arab world, especially those dealing with childhood and women’s issues, combating poverty and its various social and humanitarian activities.

In his artistic career, he presented 19 albums, dozens of music videos, dozens of patriotic songs and occasional songs (such as the song of my mother, Arab horses).
